๐ It's that time of year again! The Connoquenessing Volunteer Fire Company wants to remind everyone that Daylight Saving Time ends this Sunday, November 1st, at 2:00 AM!
That means we get an EXTRA HOUR OF SLEEP! ๐ด But before you enjoy that extra hour, take a few minutes to make sure your home and family are protected!
๐ฅ WHEN YOU CHANGE YOUR CLOCKS, CHECK YOUR SMOKE ALARMS! ๐ฅ
โ
Test your smoke alarms! Press the test button on every alarm in your home to ensure it's working properly.
๐ Check the batteries! Replace removable batteries if needed. Never remove or disconnect a battery just to silence an alarm.
๐ Check your alarm locations! Smoke alarms should be installed inside every bedroom, outside each sleeping area, and on every level of your home, including the basement.
๐
Check the expiration dates! Smoke alarms should generally be replaced every 10 years from the date of manufacture. If you don't know how old yours are, it's time to check!
๐จ Don't forget carbon monoxide alarms! Test them, check their batteries, and replace them according to the manufacturer's instructions.
๐จโ๐ฉโ๐งโ๐ฆ Practice your family escape plan! Make sure everyone knows two ways out of every room, where to meet outside, and how to call 911 in an emergency.
๐ฅ REMEMBER: A WORKING SMOKE ALARM CAN SAVE YOUR LIFE!
A few minutes of prevention today could make all the difference tomorrow.
The members of the Connoquenessing Volunteer Fire Company encourage everyone in Connoquenessing Borough, Connoquenessing Township, and our surrounding communities to take advantage of the time change to make fire safety a priority!
โฐ Fall back one hour. Check your alarms. Protect your family.
Stay safe, Connoquenessing! ๐โค๏ธ |
