As we celebrate the 250th Anniversary of America and our nation's Independence Day, we honor the courage, sacrifice, and spirit that have defined our country since 1776. We hope everyone enjoys a safe and memorable holiday with family, friends, and neighbors.
Whether you're firing up the grill, watching fireworks, or hosting a backyard gathering, please keep safety at the forefront.
π₯ Grilling Safety
β’ Keep grills at least 10 feet away from homes, decks, and anything that can burn.
β’ Never leave a hot grill unattended.
β’ Keep children and pets at a safe distance from the cooking area.
β’ Clean grease and fat buildup to help prevent flare-ups.
β’ Always have a fire extinguisher or garden hose nearby.
π Fireworks Safety
β’ Leave professional fireworks to the professionals whenever possible.
β’ Never allow young children to handle fireworks.
β’ Keep a bucket of water or garden hose nearby.
β’ Never relight fireworks that fail to ignite.
β’ Stay away from dry grass, brush, and other combustible materials.
β’ Never point or throw fireworks at another person.
β’ Dispose of used fireworks by soaking them in water before placing them in the trash.
π If an emergency occurs, call 9-1-1 immediately.
