🎃👻 HALLOWEEN TRICK-OR-TREAT SAFETY REMINDER!

The Connoquenessing Volunteer Fire Company would like to remind everyone that Trick-or-Treat will take place TONIGHT from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM in both Connoquenessing Borough and Connoquenessing Township!

As ghosts, goblins, superheroes, and princesses head out to collect their candy, we want to remind everyone to make safety a top priority!

🚗 DRIVERS — SLOW DOWN AND STAY ALERT!

Reduce your speed in residential neighborhoods.

Watch carefully for children crossing streets, driveways, and intersections.

Avoid distractions, especially cell phones, while driving.

Be extra cautious between 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM, when pedestrian traffic will be higher than normal.

Remember, excited children may dart into the roadway unexpectedly!

🎃 PARENTS AND TRICK-OR-TREATERS — STAY SAFE!

Carry flashlights or glow sticks to help improve visibility.

Add reflective materials to costumes and candy bags.

Cross streets at intersections whenever possible, and look both ways before crossing.

Walk on sidewalks where available. If there are no sidewalks, walk facing oncoming traffic.

Make sure costumes fit properly to prevent trips and falls.

Young children should always be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Inspect candy before allowing children to enjoy their treats.

🏡 HOMEOWNERS — HELP KEEP HALLOWEEN SAFE!

Keep walkways, steps, and porches well-lit.

Remove obstacles that could cause trips or falls.

Keep pets secured when answering the door.

Use battery-operated candles instead of open flames in decorations.

🚒 A REMINDER FROM YOUR LOCAL FIREFIGHTERS:

Our communities will have plenty of little trick-or-treaters out enjoying the evening. Please use extra caution, be patient, and help make sure everyone gets home safely!

A few extra seconds of caution behind the wheel could prevent a tragedy.
