With heat index values expected to reach 98ยฐโ€“105ยฐF and warm overnight temperatures providing little relief, it's important to take steps to protect yourself and your family.

๐Ÿ”ฅ Heat Safety Tips:
๐Ÿ’ง Drink plenty of water, even if you don't feel thirsty.
๐Ÿ  Stay in air-conditioned buildings whenever possible.
โ˜€๏ธ Avoid prolonged time outdoors, especially during the hottest part of the day.
๐Ÿ‘• Wear lightweight, light-colored, and loose-fitting clothing.
โฐ Schedule outdoor work and activities for the early morning or evening.
๐Ÿš— Never leave children, older adults, or pets in a parked vehicleโ€”even for a minute.
๐Ÿ‘ต Check on elderly family members, neighbors, and anyone without air conditioning.
๐Ÿพ Make sure pets have plenty of fresh water and a cool place to rest.

Know the Warning Signs:
โš ๏ธ Heat Exhaustion: Heavy sweating, weakness, dizziness, nausea, headache, cool or clammy skin.
๐Ÿš‘ Heat Stroke (Medical Emergency): High body temperature, confusion, loss of consciousness, hot dry skin or heavy sweating.

Call 911 immediately if you suspect someone is experiencing heat stroke.
