Turn Around. Don’t Drown.

β€’ Just 6 inches of moving water can knock a person off their feet.
β€’ 12 inches of water can carry away a small vehicle.
β€’ The road surface beneath floodwater may be washed out or structurally compromised.
β€’ Water depth is often impossible to judge at night.

If you encounter water covering the roadway:
βœ” Slow down immediately
βœ” Do NOT attempt to drive through it
βœ” Turn around and find an alternate route
βœ” Obey barricades and road closure signs

Please use caution, especially in areas prone to flooding and near creeks or low crossings. Allow extra travel time and remain alert for debris, ice, and changing conditions.

If you observe hazardous roadway conditions, contact local authorities. In an emergency, call 911.

Stay safe and make smart decisions β€” no destination is worth the risk.
